One of the 40 landscape paintings of Yuanmingyuan done by
painters Shen Yuan and Tang Dai in 1744 (9th year of Emperor
Qianlong's reign). The original scroll is now housed in the
National Library of Paris, France.
The seven-bay hall inside the Dagongmen
(Main Palace Gate) had the same function as the Taihe hall
(Hall of Supreme Harmony) and Baohe Hall (Hall of Protecting
Harmony) in the Forbidden City, where the emperor gave audience
to his ministers and foreign envoys. A horizontal board bearing
the characters "Zhengda Guangming" was hung high at the entrance.
