Sravati,a typical Buddhist complex, was commonly known as Buddhist Town.Enshrined here are the Town God,General Guan Yu (of the There Kingdoms Period),the Trikala Buddhas and the Maitreya. On the first and fifteenth day of each month and during festivals, the emperor would comeand server as monks to chant Buddhist sutras. It is said that the layout was designed after an ancient capital of India.Elaborate Buddhist figures, presented by imperial members and ministers to emperors and empress dowagers on their birthdays, were accunulated through the centuries.
