Located in the northwest
of Wenyuan (Literary Profundity)Hall,this sight was build
in 1763(28th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign),after a scenic
spot of the same at the West Lake in Hangzhou.Among the
lakeside willow groves stood a marble tablet with the inscription,"Waving
Willows and Singing Orioles." The stone tablet was once
lost and later found in the Langrun Garden of Peking University.It
was transported back to Yuanmingyuan in 1977 and is now
on display to the north of the ruins of Haiyan(Tranquil
Sea)Hall in the European palaces area.
